Melissa Ma

Melissa Ma is Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Asia Alternatives, where she helps lead the firm’s investment strategy and operations across its Hong Kong and San Francisco offices. Prior to founding Asia Alternatives, Ms. Ma was a Director at a San Francisco–based private equity firm and earlier worked at McKinsey & Company and Goldman Sachs, with experience spanning finance, strategy, and global markets. Ms. Ma holds an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and an A.B., magna cum laude, in Economics and East Asian Studies from Harvard College. She is fluent in Mandarin Chinese. In addition to her professional work, Ms. Ma is deeply engaged in nonprofit and educational organizations. She has served on the boards of the East-West Center (by appointment of the U.S. Secretary of State), Asia Society (Northern California), OneSky, the San Francisco Zoo, and the Harvard College Fund Executive Committee.
