Physical Education
The Physical Education program at Armstrong celebrates the whole child, recognizing that students come with diverse abilities, interests, and learning styles. Grounded in the belief that all students learn differently, the program creates an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can feel comfortable, challenged, and successful—whether physical activity comes naturally to them or not.
Students participate in a wide variety of engaging activities, including soccer, basketball, softball, street hockey, archery, gymnastics, capture the flag, and even creative experiences like Quidditch. Lessons often incorporate elements of storytelling and real-world life skills, helping students build connections beyond the game.
The program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and good sportsmanship, while fostering a culture of respect, safety, and collaboration. Students are encouraged to try new activities, take on leadership roles, and work together in a positive, supportive setting. Clear expectations—such as listening, following directions, maintaining safety, and showing respect—help create a structured and welcoming environment for all.
Through this inclusive and engaging curriculum, the PE program empowers students of all backgrounds and abilities to build confidence, develop lifelong healthy habits, and reach their full potential.
