Life After Armstrong

Next School Placement

The Next School Placement Team at Charles Armstrong is committed to assisting our students and families in their efforts to find their next school within the context of continuing student success.

For our 8th grade students, we have a comprehensive high school placement process that begins mid 7th grade for students and families. This includes formal and informal meetings, a coordinated timeline, and an on-site High School Fair. Our 8th grade students apply to a variety of schools, including public and independent options that provide continued support as needed. For more information contact Manager of Next School Placement.
For questions about next school placement, contact: Lora Buchler, Manager Next School Placement: lbuchler@charlesarmstrong.org  (650) 592-7570 x1038

For Non- 8th grade students

Next school placement process starts prior to their final year at Armstrong with a conversation with homeroom teachers and the Director of Lower School. Transition readiness and discussions of potential next schools is individually evaluated for each student and family, and includes assessing balanced goal attainment in several areas covered:
  1. academic concepts and skills
  2. learning skills and strategies
  3. understanding one’s strengths, talents and challenges
  4. the ability to self-advocate.
