5. Carpools
Prior to the beginning of summer school, CAS will provide parents with the list of registered students. Parents are then able to make carpool arrangements with other parents. CAS does not offer any transportation to and from school.
6. Parking, Student Drop-off & Pick-up
The parking drop-off & pick-up instructions listed below must be strictly followed. In the required summer school forms, you will find a CAS Parking Agreement and map of the acceptable places to park. Please fill out the agreement and return it with your other forms by April 23, 2009. When you need to park, remember to park only in parking lots B, C or D as shown on the attached map – accessed from Solana Drive by the first driveway into the school grounds. Never park in the upper parking lot labeled “Staff and Faculty Parking Only”, located near the Room 1 building and accessed by the second driveway. Also, never turn around in any neighbor’s driveway.
DROP-OFF: 8:20 - 8:25 am
You may drop-off your child in the lower parking lot driveway turn-around. Someone will meet and open the door for your child and safely direct each car.
PICK-UP: 12:30 pm or 4:00 pm
All students will be dismissed at the lower parking lot at 12:30 or 4:00 if your child is in the afternoon camp program. Please drive to the playground and park so that we can dismiss students safely. Please do not leave the parking lot until you are directed to by our parking director. It will take longer than usual during the first couple of days as parents learn the procedure, so please allow extra time. All students need to be picked up no later than 12:45 after school or 4:15, if in the afternoon program.
7. The First Day
On the first day of school, all parents and students will meet in the multi-purpose room at 8:30 am for a brief presentation. During this presentation we will introduce the classroom teachers, give students their classroom assignments and dismiss them to their classes. Parents are invited to stay afterwards to arrange carpools. All students entering grades 1-5 will begin each day at 8:30 am in the multi-purpose room for an assembly. After the first day of school, students entering grades 6-8 will go directly to their classroom each morning.
