General Information

Welcome to the Admissions section of the Charles Armstrong School Website. We hope you will find a wealth of useful information on our site, whether you are making an initial inquiry or already know about us.  Charles Armstrong offers a unique learning environment for children with language based learning differences. We are a day school for grades one through eight.  CAS is a WASC Accredited, non-profit, co-educational school that serves students in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are very proud of our unique program, our highly specialized faculty and staff, and our wonderful students.

Class Size

There are a maximum of 18 students per class.  Each class has two full-time classroom teachers, and a small group instructional teacher.

 

Faculty

All CAS faculty are trained in special education techniques.  Our classroom teaching teams are utilized to ensure each student receives the appropriate individualized instruction necessary for their success.

 

School Hours

Lower School (grades 1-5)
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:15 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:15 am – 1:00pm (Early Dismissal)

Middle School (grades 6-8)

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:15 a.m. – 3:15 p.m.
Tuesday: 8:15 am - 1:15pm (Early Dismissal)

 

Before & After School Care

Before Care:  7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
After Care:    3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
Tuesday after care hours are 12:45 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

The Learning Lab

An after-school program designed to challenge the strengths and address
the needs of students. The program includes one-to-one tutoring,
homework clubs, science club and chess club among others. Fees vary
according to the program selected.

Financial Aid
