Assessment Requirements

Administration and evaluation of the following assessments required for students applying for fall enrollment.  Substitutions not accepted.

 

Psycho-Educational Evaluation (within 1-2 years) to include: Score, Written Report and Diagnosis

The following assessments (1-3) are a priority and required for shadowing and acceptance.

1. Intelligence Test - WISC-IV or WPPSI (based on age of child). (Submit copy of IEP or 504 Plan if applicable).  Diagnosis to be included.

2. Academic Achievement – Woodcock Johnson III (Cluster Scores and Achievement Subtests to include Language Arts and Math)

3. Behavior Assessment Scale for Children – BASC (Teacher Form)


The following assessments (4-8) are also required and can be submitted by June.

4. Gray Oral Reading Test – GORT (Given to students 6+ years old)

5. Test of Written Language – TOWL (Given to students 7.6+ years old)

6. Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing - CTOPP

7. Slingerland Screening

8. End-of-Year standardized test results from current school (ex:  SAT10, CAT6, ERB, ISEE, Star)

To be more fully acquainted with our school and our programs please reserve your space - Ext. 264 or dvielbaum@charlesarmstrong.org.  You may also make arrangements for a self-guided classroom observation.

 

Student Shadowing & Interview

After Assessments 1-3 Received
Student candidates will be invited to "shadow" in a classroom for 2 days as part of the admission process.   Classroom "buddies" will be assigned to guide our visitors through the activities of the day and answer any questions. Student interviews are scheduled during this visit. A representative from the Admission’s Office will contact you to arrange this. 

 

Parent Interview

The parents of each student candidate will be interviewed by the Head or Assistant Head of School.  Interviews are scheduled after the initial review of candidate's application (space permitting) and student shadowing.   A representative from the Admission’s Office will contact you to arrange this.

 

Attend CAS Summer School and Camp Armstrong 2009

New students enrolled for the fall must attend CAS's summer school and camp programs. Summer School Program information and forms are now available!
